Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices announced the winner of its “Love Your Home” Sweepstakes held in conjunction with HGTV and its popular Good Bones home-renovation show. Aaron Zimmerman, a Sandy, Utah resident, was drawn for the $50,000 grand prize from nearly 5.7 million sweepstakes entrants. The sweepstakes also generated 12 weekly winners of $2,500 apiece. 

The entrant total set a record for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices sweepstakes held in conjunction with HGTV, and was 77% above last year’s sweepstakes registrations. “This is a life changer for me and my family,” said Zimmerman, who with wife Kathryn is raising a 4-year-old son in the suburbs south of Salt Lake City.

The 2017 Sundance Film Festival starts the 19th, and we’ve got our cameras ready to snap shots of all those famous folk who are mingling outside the places we usually buy coffee. While Sundance brings film, art, and culture, it can also be a bit of a nuisance…especially if you have a car to park. Here are some tips to enjoying the fest and avoiding the hassle.

If you can, ditch the car.

It’s impossible to drive, park, buy gas, etc… during Sundance. For fun, we recommend renting a fat tire bike at White Pine Touring. It facilitates travel, allows you to people watch, makes you feel really good about reducing your carbon footprint, and it’s fun!  Or, utilize Park City’s extensive bus system. The downtown area of Salt Lake City is very pedestrian friendly and the grid layout of the streets makes it easy to navigate.

Public Transportation

Within the downtown area, UTA allows passengers to ride both the bus and the train at no cost: The “free fare zone” is the area within the State Capitol to the north, 200 East, 500 South and Salt Lake Central Station to the west.
